KITTEC ESP Energy Saving Package – additional insulation for lower power consumption

The ESP energy saving package reduces heat loss and power consumption of your Kittec kiln through an additional, high-quality insulation layer. Ideal for frequent firing, long glazing cycles, or if you want to save on energy costs in the long term. There are two versions – ESP and NewGen ESP:

ESP – the proven standard insulation

Additional insulation layer based on firebrick, which reduces heat loss and lowers power consumption. The solid, more affordable entry-level option for anyone wanting to operate their kiln more efficiently.

NewGen ESP – the latest generation

NewGen ESP combines high-quality multi-layer premium insulation, an insulation board under the kiln floor, and a globally unique, patented foam ceramic brick for the interior lining – manufactured in Central Europe. The foam ceramic brick has a significantly lower density than classic firebrick, thereby absorbing less heat and storing it for a shorter duration. The kiln thus focuses more on heating the ware instead of the kiln bricks themselves.

The concrete benefits:

• Significantly lower power consumption per firing
• Noticeably faster heating and cooling times
• Less strain on the heating elements – resulting in longer service life and fewer spare parts and service costs
• Approx. 30% lower weight for top-loaders, approx. 20% for front-loaders – facilitates installation and transport
• Ceramic fiber-free, 100% recyclable – the bricks can be reused as raw material for new foam ceramic

Practical example (CB 95 S, 1,250 °C): With NewGen ESP, the kiln reaches the target temperature in approx. 3 hours – with classic ESP it takes approx. 3¾ hours, without an energy saving package approx. 4¼ hours. This corresponds to up to 1 hour and 13 minutes faster heating compared to the standard model and 43 minutes faster than with classic ESP. At 1,250 °C and with SKIP heating, NewGen ESP saves around 5–8.5 kWh per firing – at €0.40/kWh, that is approximately €2–3.40 per firing. With regular use, the surcharge pays for itself quickly.

For comparison: In the Professional-Line (X, XR, XT), NewGen ESP is already factory standard. For Studio-Line and Classic-Line it is optionally available – exactly the models you find here.

Which version to choose?

First select your exact kiln model in the dropdown (e.g., "CBN 100 S") and then the desired version (ESP or NewGen ESP). Available for the model series ECO, CBN, CB, SQ, CBF/SQF, CL, CT-3/CT-5 and CBG.

Note on PLUS and Double models

For CB/CBN/SQ PLUS or Double models, the standard ESP is already factory-installed. For these models, only the reduced surcharge for an upgrade to NewGen ESP is listed – not the full package price.

Intermediate ring versions

For models with an optional intermediate ring (e.g., CB 70 S, SQ 90 S), the ESP package is also available as a separate version for the intermediate ring.
