Finding a pottery class: how to choose the right one

A pottery class is the easiest way to get started with clay. You need no materials and no workshop of your own, and an experienced instructor shows you step by step what matters. At the end you take your own pieces home once they have been dried and fired.

Pottery classes for beginners

Most classes on this page are made for beginners. In a two to three hour workshop you learn the basics of a technique and create your first piece right away, for example a bowl or a plate.

Pottery classes in Germany

The studios are currently located in Berlin, Nottuln and Erfurt, Germany. More cities are added regularly. Use the filter above to see which classes take place in your region.

Pottery with kids

In parent and child workshops you create together. Under the family filter you will find classes where children make pottery together with an accompanying adult.

Workshop, wheel throwing or hand building?

A workshop usually takes one afternoon and has a set theme. In hand building, shapes are made by hand, for example with slabs or coils. Wheel throwing means working at the pottery wheel. If you are unsure, start with a beginner workshop.
