KITTEC CBF Glass Fusing Top-Loader Kilns in 5 Versions with Controller

The KITTEC model series for glass fusing differ primarily in their shape: while the SQF models have a square or rectangular design, the CBF series is characterized by its classic round construction. These top-loaders were developed specifically for glass artists and are based on the decades of experience gained from the successful CB series. Since heat exposure from above is crucial for fusing, these models feature special lid heating elements on support tubes. This guarantees optimal radiant heat for precisely melting glass. With a maximum firing temperature of 1000 °C, they are perfectly tailored to the thermal requirements of glassworking in studios and workshops.

How do the KITTEC CBF models differ within the series?

To make choosing the right model easier, we have summarized the differences in a practical way:

• CBF 45 and CBF 65: The compact fusing kilns for smaller workpieces or for getting started. These models operate on 230 V household electricity (3.6 kW) and can therefore be used flexibly without the need for a high-voltage power connection.
• CBF 65 S, CBF 85 S and CBF 115 S: The more powerful models for regular work and larger projects. These "S" versions require a 400 V connection and, with 5.0 to 7.0 kW, offer high power reserves for professional demands.

The Kittec CBF series is available in the following versions:

• Model CBF 45 – 45 liters volume (230 V)
• Model CBF 65 – 63 liters volume (230 V)
• Model CBF 65 S – 63 liters volume (400 V)
• Model CBF 85 S – 84 liters volume (400 V)
• Model CBF 115 S – 115 liters volume (400 V)

Technical Features:

• Lid heating on support tubes: Heat radiation optimized specifically for glass fusing from above.
• Gas pressure spring support: Allows for particularly easy and safe opening of the lid.
• Wide lid opening: An opening angle of over 90° makes loading delicate glass objects easier.
• Lid prop: Integrated prop for a controlled, accelerated cooling process.
• Viewing hole in the body: For observing the firing process without heat loss caused by opening the lid.
• Maximum firing temperature: 1000 °C.
• Kiln chamber height: Standard 305 mm; alternatively 230 mm or 455 mm upon request.

Optional Accessories:

• Solid-state relay (SSR): Enables completely silent switching operations during the firing process – ideal for studios in residential buildings.
• NewGen ESP energy-saving package: Additional insulation to reduce heat loss and power consumption.
• Leveling feet: For perfectly compensating for uneven floors to ensure a completely horizontal position.
• Castors (BASIC or PROFI): Allow for simple and flexible moving of the kiln.
• Exhaust air system: Flexible exhaust hose for targeted extraction of vapors.
• The kilns come with a warranty of up to 3 years; as usual, this excludes the heating elements.

Electronic Controllers

The standard equipment comes with a TC 75. This controller is very well suited for typical fusing firing curves and allows for the setting of a soak time (delay), controlled heating, final temperature, holding time, and controlled cooling.

Those who additionally require data logging can choose the kiln with a TC 95 (incl. Wi-Fi and data logging). For more demanding firing programs, the TC505, TC705, and TC707 are also available. Upon request, the kiln can also be purchased without a controller if a suitable control unit is already available.
