KITTEC CBF Glass Fusing Top-Loading Kilns in 5 Variants with Controller

The KITTEC model series for glass fusing primarily differ in their shape: while the SQF models are square or rectangular, the CBF series is characterized by its classic round design. These top-loading kilns were specifically developed for glass artists and are based on decades of experience with the successful CB series. Since heat exposure from above is crucial for fusing, these models feature special lid heating on support tubes. This guarantees optimal radiant heat to precisely fuse glass. With a maximum firing temperature of 1000 °C, they are perfectly matched to the thermal requirements of glass processing in studios and workshops.

How do the KITTEC CBF models within the series differ?

To facilitate the choice of the right model, we have summarized the practical differences:

  • CBF 45 and CBF 65: The compact fusing kilns for smaller workpieces or for beginners. These models operate with 230 V household current (3.6 kW) and can therefore be operated flexibly without a high-voltage connection.
  • CBF 65 S, CBF 85 S and CBF 115 S: The more powerful models for regular work and larger projects. These "S" variants require a 400 V connection and offer high power reserves of 5.0 to 7.0 kW for professional demands.

The CBF series from Kittec is available in the following versions:

  • Model CBF 45 – 45 liters volume (230 V)
  • Model CBF 65 – 63 liters volume (230 V)
  • Model CBF 65 S – 63 liters volume (400 V)
  • Model CBF 85 S – 84 liters volume (400 V)
  • Model CBF 115 S – 115 liters volume (400 V)

A detailed comparison of the technical data of the different models can be found in the table with the product images.

Technical Features:

  • Lid heating on support tubes: Heat radiation from above optimized specifically for glass fusing.
  • Gas spring support: Allows for particularly easy and safe opening of the lid.
  • Wide lid opening: An opening angle of over 90° facilitates the loading of delicate glass objects.
  • Lid support: Integrated support for a controlled, accelerated cooling process.
  • Peephole in the body: For observing the firing without heat loss due to lid opening.
  • Maximum firing temperature: 1000 °C.
  • Flexible chamber height: Different firing chamber heights (305 mm or 455 mm) are optionally available.

Optional Accessories:

  • Solid state relay (SSR): Allows for absolutely silent switching operations during firing – ideal for studios in residential buildings.
  • NewGen ESP Energy Saving Package: Additional insulation to reduce heat loss and power consumption.
  • Leveling feet: For perfect compensation of uneven floors for a perfectly horizontal stand.
  • Transport castors (BASIC or PROFI): Allow for easy and flexible moving of the kiln.
  • Exhaust system: Flexible exhaust hose for targeted removal of fumes.
  • The kilns come with up to 3 years warranty, excluding the heating elements as usual.

Electronic Controllers

The basic equipment includes the TC66. This controller is very suitable for typical fusing firing curves and allows the setting of preheating time, controlled heating, final temperature, holding time, and controlled cooling. Six programs can be individually adjusted and stored.

Those who want additional comfort can choose the kiln with TC75 WU or TC95 WU. Both controllers also offer WiFi and data logging. For more demanding firing programs, TC505, TC705, and TC707 are also available. On request, the kiln is also available without a controller if a suitable one is already available.
