KITTEC SQF Squadro Fusing Top-Loading Kilns in 2 variants up to 1000 °C

The fusing top-loading kilns of the KITTEC SQF Squadro-Line have been specially developed for glass artists and studios who wish to fuse, slump, or bond glass with other materials. Fusing is a traditional form of glass processing in which the material is primarily heated from above. The SQF series is based on decades of experience with the successful KITTEC top-loaders and combines this with the specific requirements of glass processing. With a maximum firing temperature of 1000 °C, these models are ideal for all common fusing techniques.

A key quality feature of the SQF series is the lid heating on support tubes. Since glass requires uniform radiant heat from above during fusing, this design ensures a perfect melting result and prevents stress in the material. The square or rectangular construction also allows for optimal use of space, which offers a massive advantage over round kilns, especially when loading large glass plates. All models feature a stainless steel housing, high-quality two-layer insulation, and gas pressure spring support for effortless opening of the lid.

How do the KITTEC SQF models differ within the series?

Within the SQF series, both models operate with the specialized lid heating and are designed for a 400 V three-phase power connection. The differences lie primarily in the available volume and the geometry of the firing chamber to cover different project sizes.

The SQF 95 S model is the square version of the series. With a volume of 102 liters, it is excellently suited for standard glass plates and medium-sized fusing work. With an output of 6.9 kW, it offers an efficient entry into professional glass processing with a compact footprint.

The SQF 180 S model is the large-area, rectangular variant. With a volume of 183 liters and an output of 8.4 kW, this kiln is designed for very large glass plates, window hangings, or series production in larger quantities. The rectangular shape allows for firing formats that would not fit in square or round kilns.

The SQF Squadro-Line from KITTEC is available in 2 versions:

• Model SQF 95 S – 102 liters volume (square)
• Model SQF 180 S – 183 liters volume (rectangular)

Electronic controllers

The KITTEC SQF series is supplied as standard with the TC 75 controller. This is excellently suited for typical fusing firing curves and allows for the precise setting of start time, controlled heating, holding time, and controlled cooling. If you already own a suitable controller, you can also purchase the kiln from us without a controller – the corresponding price reduction will then be credited to you.
