PYROTEC Profitherm top-loading kiln in 15 versions with PY1 or TC66 controller

The PROFITHERM series from German manufacturer PYROTEC was developed for professional use where maximum temperature stability, energy efficiency and durability matter. Depending on the model, these high temperature kilns reach up to 1320 °C (some standard household socket models slightly less, see model list) and are suitable for firing stoneware, porcelain and glazes. The combination of solid construction, reinforced insulation and high quality control technology ensures exact firing results with optimal use of energy.

All models of the PROFITHERM series are built to the latest safety standards and supplied with a CE declaration of conformity. PYROTEC gives a 36 month manufacturer warranty on all kilns and controllers (heating elements and thermocouples excluded).

How do the three PYROTEC series STUDIO, PROFITHERM and PROFITHERM HS differ?

The STUDIO series is the affordable entry model for hobby ceramicists and ideal if you are looking for a solid top-loading kiln with a maximum firing temperature of up to 1260 °C (depending on the model). The PROFITHERM series is the more powerful series for higher temperatures up to 1320 °C (depending on the model). The PROFITHERM HS models also feature a convenient swing lid with gas springs, which makes opening and closing much easier, especially on larger kilns. This makes the PROFITHERM HS models more geared towards workshops and larger institutions.

• Temperature measurement with type S thermocouple (PtRh-Pt)
• High quality insulating firebrick lining with SUPERWOOL back insulation
• Robust stainless steel housing and powder coated base frame
• Heating elements protected in brick grooves all round
• Lid opens beyond 90°, with positive break switch
• Over-temperature protection via a second safety contactor
• Controller connected to the kiln via plug
• Supplied as standard with PY1 or TC66 electronic controller
• Maximum firing temperature 1200 to 1320 °C depending on the model (see model list)

Optional accessories:

• Electronic controllers: An electronic controller (PY1 or TC66) is included as standard:
  • The PY1 system also has a key lock, which is especially useful if several people have access to the kiln and you want to prevent settings from being changed by accident.
  • The TC 66 gives you more control over the firing schedule, which is why some potters say this controller offers better value for money.

As a special offer for Formwerk Berlin customers, the kiln is also available without a controller at a reduced price. This makes sense if you already own a controller.
