PYROTEC Profitherm Top-Loading Kiln in 15 Variants with PY1 / TC66 Controller

The PROFITHERM series from the German manufacturer PYROTEC was developed for professional use where maximum temperature stability, energy efficiency, and longevity are required. These high-temperature kilns reach up to 1320 °C and are perfect for firing stoneware, porcelain, and glazes. The combination of robust construction, reinforced insulation, and high-quality control technology ensures precise firing results with optimal energy use.

All models in the PROFITHERM series are manufactured according to the latest safety standards and delivered with a CE conformity declaration. PYROTEC provides a 36-month manufacturer's warranty on all kilns and controllers (excluding heating elements and thermocouples).

How do the three PYROTEC series STUDIO, PROFITHERM, and PROFITHERM HS differ?

The STUDIO series is the affordable entry-level model for hobby potters and ideal if you are looking for a solid top-loader with a maximum firing temperature of 1260°C. The PROFITHERM series is the more powerful series for higher temperatures up to 1320 °C. The PROFITHERM HS models also offer a comfortable hinged lid with gas pressure springs, which makes opening and closing much easier, especially for larger kilns. Thus, the PROFITHERM HS models are more geared towards workshops and larger facilities.

• High-quality lightweight refractory brick lining with SUPERWOOL back insulation
• Robust stainless steel casing and powder-coated base frame

Optional accessories:

Firing Set: Also optionally available is a suitable firing set, consisting of

• 3 cordierite kiln shelves Ø 35 cm, 1 cm thick
• 18 silimanite props Ø 40 mm – 6 pieces each in 50, 100, and 150 mm height
• 1 kg kiln wash

Air Inlet Slide in the Base: For better ventilation of the firing chamber, an air inlet slide can be integrated, which supplies the kiln atmosphere with additional oxygen. Direct link: Air Inlet Slide

Electronic Controllers: An electronic controller (PY1 or TC66) is included as standard:

• The PY1 system also features a keypad lock, which is particularly useful when multiple people have access to the kiln and accidental changes to settings should be prevented.
• The TC 66 offers more intervention options in the firing curve, which is why some potters say this controller offers better value for money.

As a special feature, we offer our Formwerk Berlin customers the option to purchase the kiln without a controller at a reduced price. This makes sense for customers who already own a controller.
