PYROTEC Profitherm HS Kiln in 10 Variants with PY1 or TC66 Controller
The PROFITHERM HS series from PYROTEC is the powerful high-temperature range for intensive and large-volume firing processes. It was specially developed for professional workshops, schools, and production facilities that want to fire large quantities or large-format workpieces up to 1320 °C. The robust construction, large capacity, and precise control technology guarantee uniform firing results with maximum reliability.
Like all PYROTEC kilns, the models in the HS series are manufactured according to the latest safety standards, delivered with a CE declaration of conformity, and offer a 36-month manufacturer's warranty (excluding heating coils and thermocouples).
What are the differences between the three PYROTEC series: STUDIO, PROFITHERM, and PROFITHERM HS?
The STUDIO series is the more affordable entry-level model for hobby ceramists and ideal if you are looking for a solid top-loader with a maximum firing temperature of 1260°C. The PROFITHERM series is the more powerful series for higher temperatures up to 1320 °C. The PROFITHERM HS models additionally offer a comfortable swing lid with gas pressure springs, which makes opening and closing significantly easier, especially for larger kilns. Thus, the PROFITHERM HS models are generally more aimed at workshops and larger facilities.
The Profitherm HS series from PYROTEC is available in 10 versions:
- Model PY 80 HS – 80 liters volume
- Model PY 100 HS – 99 liters volume
- Model PY 115 HS – 114 liters volume
- Model PY 138 HS – 138 liters volume
- Model PY 140 HS – 139 liters volume
- Model PY 170 HS – 174 liters volume
- Model PY 172 HS – 172 liters volume

Optional accessories:
Castors: On request, the kiln is available with sturdy castors (Ø 75 mm with locking and crown brake). This allows the kiln to be moved comfortably and safely. Direct link: Pyrotec Castors for Kilns
Firing Set: A suitable firing set is also optionally available, consisting of
- 3 cordierite kiln shelves Ø 35 cm, 1 cm thick
- 18 silimanite props Ø 40 mm – 6 pieces each in 50, 100 and 150 mm height
- 1 kg kiln wash
Air intake slide in the base: An air intake slide can be integrated for better ventilation of the firing chamber, which supplies the kiln atmosphere with additional oxygen. Direct link: Air intake slide
Electronic Controllers: An electronic controller (PY1 or TC66) is included as standard:
- The PY1 controller is manufactured by Pyrotec itself and is a modern compact controller for ceramic kilns that enables precise and reproducible firing processes. The firing curve includes heating, final temperature, hold time, and natural cooling. Five pre-set programs can be individually adjusted and permanently saved. The controller has a keypad lock to prevent accidental changes.
- The TC66 controller from the manufacturer Bentrup is a modern compact controller with a fully adjustable firing curve. It allows for a lead time and linear heating in two stages to the desired final temperature, subsequent holding, and controlled cooling. In addition, six pre-set programs are available that can be individually adjusted.
As a special feature, we offer our Formwerk Berlin customers the option of receiving the kiln without a controller at a reduced price. This makes sense for advanced potters and workshops that already have a controller. To do this, simply select the "No controller" option in the menu above. For more demanding firing programs, other compatible controllers are available on request. Direct link to the full selection: Electronic controllers for Pyrotec kilns.
