Shimpo RK 5 TF pottery wheel: the compact tabletop model with foot pedal instead of hand lever

The RK 5 TF is identical in construction to the RK 5 T: a compact 177 mm bat wheel head, 10 kg centering capacity and 12 kg weight. Only the control differs. Instead of a hand lever, you control the speed with a foot pedal, just like on a large floor standing wheel. If you want to practice the movements you will later need on a larger Shimpo wheel right from the start, this is a real advantage.

Why the RK 5 TF is the right choice

Weighing only 12 kg, the RK 5 TF fits on any table and can move between rooms or into a cupboard when needed. The foot pedal leaves both hands free for working the clay and matches the operation you will find later on larger wheels such as the RK 55 or RK 3D. A good start if you expect to move up to a larger model.

Matching accessories

Even at a tabletop wheel, you sit more comfortably at the right height: above, you can add the "With stool" version, a height adjustable pottery stool (seat height 48 to 66 cm, washable plastic seat). As the RK 5 TF already comes with matching bats, separate bat systems are not needed. If you need additional 250 mm bats, just ask us via the contact form.

If the wheel head ever needs replacing or you would like a second head for quick changes, we offer the matching plastic wheel head 250 mm. For a replacement or second pan, our splash pan in the "RK 5T / RK 5TF" version is the right fit. Practical studio accessories: the pot lifter makes it easier to lift off freshly thrown pieces, and the clay centering tool helps you center the clay cleanly.

Which Shimpo wheel is right for me?

If you prefer a hand lever at the same size, for example for accessible operation without a foot pedal, the RK 5 T is the right alternative. If you need more centering capacity or a larger, permanently installed wheel head, take a look at the RK 55 (12 kg, floor model) or the quiet Whisper T.
