Shimpo Pottery Wheel RK 5 T: The compact tabletop model with accessible hand lever control

The RK 5 T is Shimpo's smallest model and solves a very practical space issue: instead of a permanently installed large wheel head, it works with a compact 177 mm light-alloy head and bat pins, onto which you attach 250 mm bats. This means you can simply remove a finished piece along with the bat and let the next person continue working immediately, a detail that pays off in classrooms and rotating courses.

Why the RK 5 T is the right choice

With a net weight of only 12 kg, the RK 5 T fits on any table and can be moved between rooms or into storage when needed. It is controlled via a hand lever instead of a foot pedal, which means it can also be operated without using your legs, making it one of the few pottery wheels that is well-suited for wheelchair users.

Suitable accessories

You can also sit more comfortably at a tabletop model with the right height: above, you can choose the "With stool" version, a height-adjustable pottery stool (seat height 48 to 66 cm, washable plastic seat). Since the RK 5 T already comes with matching bats, separate bat systems are not necessary here. If you need additional 250 mm bats, simply request them via the contact form.

If the wheel head ever needs to be replaced or you would like a second head for quick changes, we offer our matching plastic wheel head 250 mm. For a replacement or second splash pan, our splash pan in the "RK 5T / RK 5TF" version is suitable. Practical workshop accessories: the vessel lifter makes it easier to remove freshly thrown pieces, and the clay centering tool helps with neatly centering the clay.

Which Shimpo wheel is right for me?

If you prefer foot pedal control while maintaining the same size, the RK 5 TF is the suitable alternative. If you need more centering capacity or a larger, permanently installed wheel head, take a look at the RK 55 (12 kg, floor model) or the quiet Whisper T.
