KITTEC CB Classic-Line top-loading kilns in 230 V and 400 V versions from 20 to 520 liters
The KITTEC CB Classic-Line covers compact electric top-loading kilns, from small 230 V models that need no three-phase connection to powerful 400 V S models for regular workshop and professional use. The 230 V models are particularly suited to hobby ceramicists, smaller studios, schools and anywhere only a standard household socket is available. The 400 V S models (round and oval) offer considerably more power and larger firing chambers and are designed for more frequent firing.
Characteristic of the CB series are the heating elements protected in grooves, the multi layer insulation and the compact, robust build. KITTEC describes the range as a redesign of its long proven CB series, which has been one of the best known top-loading kiln ranges on the European market for many years. The kilns are built in small batches and offer very good value for money.
KITTEC gives up to 3 years of warranty on the kilns; as usual, the heating elements are excluded.
Important when choosing: within the CB series, the models differ not only in volume but also in maximum temperature, supply voltage and insulation. That is why not every model is equally suited to the same ceramic applications.
How do the KITTEC CB versions differ within the range?
Within the KITTEC program, the CB Classic-Line is the range of compact electric top-loading kilns. In the 230 V segment, it is aimed mainly at users who want to work without three-phase power and still want a solid kiln for regular use.
The smaller models such as the CB 20 and CB 40 are particularly interesting for beginners, smaller loads or tight spaces. They offer an easy start into electric firing in a compact format.
From the medium sizes upwards, many models are also available as PLUS or Double versions. These differ mainly in their insulation and the resulting performance. According to KITTEC, CB PLUS models have high quality premium insulation in the sides and floor in addition to the insulating firebrick. CB Double models go one step further: their three layer insulation lowers energy consumption and reaches considerably higher firing temperatures within the 230 V range than comparable standard models.
The 400 V S models are the more powerful versions of the CB series. They are suited to users with three-phase power, higher power requirements and more frequent firings. The S models include round models (CB 50 S to CB 300 S) as well as larger oval models (CB 220 S to CB 520 S) for particularly large firing chambers. Certain models (CB 70 S, CB 80 S, CB 95 S, CB 130 S, CB 200 S) can also be extended in height later with an extension ring.

Electronic controllers, the Formwerk way:
The standard controller is the TC 75. It is very well suited to typical ceramic firing schedules and lets you set the delay start, controlled heating, final temperature, hold time and controlled cooling.
If you also want data logging, you can choose the kiln with the TC 95 (including WiFi and data logging). For more demanding firing programs and advanced control functions, the TC505, TC705 and TC707 are also available. The TC505 is particularly suited to freely programmable firing schedules, while the TC705 and TC707 also offer documentation functions. The TC707 additionally offers WiFi and data logging.
On request, the kiln is also available without a controller if you already have a suitable one. Here is the direct link to the controllers: Kittec CB controllers.
