Amaco Potter’s Choice Blue Rutile PC-20

Blue Rutile from Amaco’s Potter’s Choice series is an active, complex, and highly fluid effect glaze and is one of the most popular glazes in the series. When applied thickly, it displays a fluid light blue; when applied thinly, it breaks into brown at the edges, creating a vibrant, iridescent play of colors.

Like all Amaco PC glazes, Blue Rutile requires a specific application thickness to achieve the correct glaze color. Different application thicknesses lead to different results; the sample tiles in the product images show results at varying coat thicknesses.

The glaze is excellent for layering and textured work and can be combined well with other Potter’s Choice glazes, as well as over AMACO Celadon glazes, for a wide range of creative design possibilities. More information about the series: Amaco Potter's Choice Series

Questions?

We are always available to answer your questions. You will generally receive a response on the same day via the contact form below.

Our delivery guarantee

You should be able to focus on your project while pottery-making, not on whether your desired glaze is currently in stock. That is exactly what we are here for.

With over 300 colors in our range, it can happen that a shade is occasionally out of stock. The Formwerk difference: you don't have to search in multiple shops, wait for a service response, or accept any extra costs. If a glaze is sold out with us, we take action manually for you and search for your shade in our European dealer network of 12 partners. We cover the additional shipping costs.

That is our guarantee: every glaze in our range remains permanently orderable. So that you can plan ahead and have a reliable source for your glazes.

Ceramic glazes are raw materials for ceramic processing and must be used and fired according to the manufacturer's instructions. Results may vary depending on the clay, firing curve, and kiln atmosphere. We recommend carrying out your own test firings under your specific workshop conditions before use.

Safety data sheets containing information on chemical composition and safe handling are available from the manufacturer.
