Sibelco Clay – extra fine white W2502 (10 kg)
This stoneware clay is ideally suited for plastic shaping techniques and throwing. The clay contains 25% grog (grain size 0–0.2 mm), making it particularly dimensionally stable and enabling precise work on the wheel or during hand-building. Thanks to its creamy firing color and fine grain, it produces a smooth surface that is ideal for colored glazes.
Characteristics
The clay has a drying shrinkage of approximately 5.5% and a firing shrinkage of around 4.8% at 1200 °C. Water absorption is about 3%, and the sintering temperature is 1220 °C. The recommended firing range is from 1000 °C to 1280 °C. The clay is supplied as a convenient 10 kg block.
