Nabertherm RAKU Kiln 100, gas-fired, complete with burner and kiln furniture set

The RAKU 100 from Nabertherm brings a centuries-old Japanese firing technique into your workshop. During a Raku firing, you remove the glowing ceramic from the kiln while it is still hot and immerse it in materials such as leaves, straw, or sawdust. The reduction process creates beautiful color nuances and the distinctive crackle effect on the surface, which gives each piece a unique character. This is not just a firing process; it is a true experience.

The RAKU 100 is delivered complete with a propane gas burner, temperature gauge including thermocouple, and a matching kiln furniture set. Like all Nabertherm kilns, it is handcrafted in Germany, supplied with a CE declaration of conformity, and comes with a 36-month warranty.

Which Nabertherm kiln is right for you?

An overview for quick reference:

  • RAKU Kiln: gas-fired kiln for the traditional Japanese Raku firing technique. This is the product you are viewing.
  • Ceramic Kilns: electric top-loaders and front-loaders for clay, ceramics, and glaze, up to 1340 °C. To the ceramic kilns
  • Fusing and Glass Kilns: for glass fusing, glass bending, and glass beads. To the glass kilns

What makes Raku firing so special?

The clear and ergonomic front-loading design allows for an organized arrangement of your firing objects. The kiln door can be opened wide, even when hot, and away from the operator, with an opening angle of approximately 270 degrees. This allows you to remove the glowing pieces safely and comfortably. The gas burner is positioned under the kiln and transfers heat centrally to the load; the special flame guidance ensures good temperature uniformity.
