Amaco CO-14 Crystal Glaze Solar Rainbow
Solar Rainbow from Amaco's Cosmos series is a high-flow, dark brown gloss glaze with iridescent rainbow crystals. It breaks translucently over edges and textures, adding extra depth.
The Cosmos glazes create deep, flowing surfaces with movement and vibrant variation, bringing the magic of true crystal glazes straight from the jar, without the need for complex firing schedules. Even a standard medium-speed firing produces the characteristic microcrystalline effects.
Solar Rainbow is best showcased at Cone 6, but can also be fired at Cone 5. For even greater crystal growth, a controlled cooling phase can optionally be added to the firing schedule, though it is not strictly necessary. The pictured results were fired in oxidation.

Note on food safety
Cosmos glazes are generally food-safe after firing. However, due to their delicate, crystalline surface, which can be prone to scratching, Amaco does not recommend them for surfaces that come into contact with food. We recommend using them for decorative purposes or for pieces without direct food contact.
