BTH Sirius Pottery Wheel – Powerful entry at a fair price
The Sirius is the compact entry-level pottery wheel from the BTH brand (Jingdezhen Baitaohui Ceramic Equipment Co., Ltd., China). It is aimed at hobby potters and beginners who are looking for a reliable, quiet, and well-equipped wheel at a fair price, without having to forgo important comfort features such as stepless speed control or selectable rotation direction.
Why is the BTH Sirius the right choice?
Within the BTH range, the Sirius is the entry-level model – more compact and affordable than the more powerful Andromeda with direct drive and up to 60 kg centering capacity. For most hobby and training projects, the Sirius with its centering capacity of up to 40 kg is perfectly sufficient, and the 500-watt brushless motor with belt drive ensures pleasantly quiet, smooth operation.
Technical highlights & advantages
Very quiet operation: Under 46 dB thanks to the brushless motor – pleasant for living spaces and small studios.
Stepless speed control: Via a waterproof foot pedal with Hall sensor technology for precise, sensitive work.

Dual hole pattern: Aluminum wheel head with holes for EU (250 mm) and US standard (254 mm) – compatible with common 254 mm bat systems.

Which accessories are right for me?
According to the manufacturer, the aluminum wheel head of the Sirius has holes for 2 pins (Ø 10 mm) at a 254 mm distance – the 10-inch hole pattern that has established itself as the de facto standard for most pottery wheels (on Shimpo wheels, for example, the outermost centering groove is exactly at this position). Our recommendation for the Sirius is the Lindemann bat system (plastic) – Lindemann itself explicitly advertises it as suitable for "all common pottery wheels with standard drive pins," and its water resistance makes it ideal for serial work and pottery courses. Before using it intensively for the first time, we still recommend a quick test, as minimal manufacturing tolerances for pin diameter can occur between brands. For a healthy sitting posture during longer sessions, the Lindemann potter's stool complements the workspace – as a pure seating piece without any interface to the machine, it is universally compatible with any wheel. Both can be ordered directly above as a variant.
