Amaco Velvet Bright Red V-387
Amaco Velvet Bright Red underglaze is an intense crimson decorative color that is ideal for precise ceramic painting and decorative designs. At lower firing temperatures, it displays a strong, vibrant red, while the color develops into a darker cherry red at higher temperatures.
Without a transparent overglaze, it produces a velvety, matte finish. If a transparent glaze is applied over it, the hue intensifies significantly and gains more depth. Because Velvet underglazes do not run during firing, lines and details remain particularly sharp and defined.
Amaco Velvet colors are versatile and can be used as both an engobe and a classic underglaze. Due to their ease of use, they are suitable for both beginners and professional ceramicists.
