Amaco PG-24 Phase Glaze Night Rain
Night Rain from Amaco’s Phase Glaze series is a glossy glaze in deep indigo blue with a light blue texture. It is reminiscent of a night sky seen through a window covered in raindrops.
Amaco’s Phase Glazes utilize an effect called phase separation: during firing, the glaze separates into two phases of slightly different composition, causing a single glaze to create fascinating patterns, speckles, and color gradients with great depth. This makes every piece unique. The colors can be mixed with one another, allowing you to create your own shades.
The effect depends on the application thickness: the thicker the glaze is applied, the more pronounced the phase separation becomes. On textured surfaces, the glaze collects in the recesses and highlights the relief beautifully.
