Amaco HF-170 High Fire Lilac

Lilac from Amaco’s High Fire series is a glossy, opaque glaze in a light lilac hue. It provides consistent, reliable results, making it well-suited for classroom settings. Originally, it was part of the Celebration line, which is inspired by classic Fiesta dinnerware.

Amaco’s High Fire glazes combine popular tones from the former Sahara and Celebration series. They are stable, produce vibrant colors, and yield interesting results in both oxidation and reduction firing. They are suitable for stoneware and porcelain.

Lilac can be used on its own, as an interior glaze (liner) for functional pottery, or as a base layer under other glazes.

Application

• Apply to bisque fired at Cone 04
• Brushing glaze, apply with a brush
• The lilac pigment may lose some intensity at higher firing temperatures; for the most vibrant results, fire in the lower range (Cone 5)
• Can be used alone, as an interior glaze, or as a base layer under other glazes
• Shake well and stir thoroughly before use
