Sibelco's white-firing throwing slip is based on Westerwald stoneware clay and boasts excellent plasticity. It is unmixed with grog and therefore particularly suitable for throwing on the potter's wheel as well as for other plastic shaping techniques. After firing, a creamy color is revealed.
Characteristics
The mass exhibits a drying shrinkage of approximately 5.8% and a firing shrinkage of around 5.5% at 1200 °C. The water absorption rate is 2.8%. , the sintering temperature is 1,220 °C The recommended firing range is from 1000 °C to 1300 °C. The clay is delivered in 10 kg blocks.
