As the successor to the proven HMT 500, it features a powerful Siemens motor, a reversible aluminum wheel head and a construction designed for years of continuous operation rather than a low entry price.

Why is the ROHDE HMT 600 the right choice?

Unlike many cheaper imported models, the HMT 600 is made in Germany by ROHDE, with correspondingly tighter manufacturing tolerances, long-term spare part availability and a voluntary manufacturer warranty of 36 months, which goes well beyond the statutory warranty. Compared to compact entry-level wheels like the Lindemann ETS250, the HMT 600 is clearly built for professional continuous use: more weight for smooth, low-vibration running, a larger 340 mm wheel head and a foot pedal with sensitive, infinitely variable speed control. If you regularly work with larger amounts of clay or use the wheel in a class setting with changing users, this robustness serves you better than a pure hobby wheel.

Technical highlights & benefits

Powerful Siemens motor: 370 W, switchable between clockwise and counterclockwise rotation.

Infinitely variable speed control: 0 to 250 rpm via a foot pedal with a 1.5 m connection cable.

Reversible aluminum wheel head: Ø 340 mm with quick-change system for MDF interchangeable heads.

Generous splash pan: with drain and overflow protection, easy to clean.

Optional ergonomic seat: adjustable in height, tilt and distance, completely without tools.

36-month manufacturer warranty: voluntarily extended beyond the statutory warranty.

Technical specifications at a glance

Motor power: 370 W (Siemens motor)

Speed: 0 to 250 rpm, infinitely variable via foot pedal

Wheel head: Ø 340 mm, aluminum, reversible

Working height: approx. 530 to 680 mm (depending on the leg setting)

Dimensions (W x D x H): approx. 700 x 1220 to 1330 x 770 to 900 mm

Weight: 39 kg (without accessories) to 54 kg (with seat & shelf)

Voltage: 230 V AC (1/N/PE), 2 A

Direction of rotation: clockwise or counterclockwise selectable

Warranty: 36-month manufacturer warranty

What's included

1x ROHDE HMT 600 pottery wheel

1x foot pedal (infinitely variable, 1.5 m connection cable)

1x aluminum wheel head Ø 340 mm (reversible)

1x splash pan with drain

Height-adjustable legs

Operating manual

Depending on the combination you choose, also included: ergonomic seat and/or shelf

Which accessories are right for me?

If you use the HMT 600 for continuous work, whether in your own studio, a classroom or a school, you should not do without the ergonomic seat: it adjusts in height, tilt and distance to the wheel without tools and can be selected right alongside the wheel. For a more organized workspace, the shelf adds a surface for tools or finished pieces. Both options can be combined independently of each other. For long-term use, especially in busy classrooms, we also recommend keeping the ROHDE HS 345 replacement wheel head on hand as a spare part. The quick-change system of the HMT 600 is a ROHDE proprietary solution for MDF interchangeable heads; compatibility with third-party bat systems from other brands is not specified by the manufacturer, so we currently do not offer a cross-brand bundle here.

Questions?

Not sure which combination suits your use, or do you have questions about setup?
